  1. Great product

Posted by Ben on Feb 17th 2017

Awesome product. The doors fit great and look amazing when installed. They are a tight fit and the tolerances are very tight. The diversity side the print is phenomenal, the main model door did have some flaws as far as the finished appearance but unless your inspecting it it's not really noticeable. Would definitely recommend them.

  2. good quality 3D print

Posted by Fernando Arocho on Feb 14th 2017

honestly, i have to say, this is made from good quality 3D print , its not just good quality material, but its a perfect fit, i have to congratulate you Robert for putting in all the effort for us coustomers , thanks again for such good product.

  3. Works awesome with some trimming

Posted by Mike on Feb 3rd 2017

The parts were printed quite well, edges strait and shape was good. Although, my dominator V3 goggles had a hell of a time fitting this piece (the main module piece) in. The diversity side fit much better, needing very minor trimming to fit correctly. Although, the main module cover needed 5 minutes of hobby knife trimming, and 30 minutes of wrestling the whole thing in, but now that it's in, it's quite sturdy and held well, and looks great.

  4. Customer Care Solid, Great Value but a Cautionary Tale for You

Posted by James Warren on Feb 2nd 2017

This product is a great value and looks sharp as all get out, I chose orange doors with a black wire holder and can you say pimp with a smudge of Jordie from Star Trek the Next Gen there too? How cool that we live in a time of 3D printing mods so readily available for such a low fee, cool times to be living for sure.

On to my review story though. Simply there was not enough room for the wiring plug to fit back into the diversity plug so I had to do some drilling out of the port which for the price was no big deal to me. If you do this, I found a quick flame to the rough edges of your work will smooth it out nicely, don't hold the flame on there too long though- one second too much and you'll get a nice carbon burn mark. Use quick short passes with the flame just to clean it up then walk away.

Now for the lame part. There is not adaquate support on the back of the plug for the diversity wireing. Because the plug sits so far back in the door you can't see this and you have to blindly push the plug in. I thought this was fine but I ended up actually pushing the socket right off of my diversity board ruining it!

I am not sure how to solve this, maybe support the plug with a pile of hot glue before putting in the door? I don't know?

So I got an email to review this product and let them know about my issue. To Great 3d's credit it looks like they almost immediately did some modding of some new doors and sent them off as a replacement, this is a good gesture and shows how good this company is to its customers. Thing is my old doors are sitting here unuseable since my diversity board is broken now! I don't need new doors I need a diversity module.

So look, for the price this is a Great product, be very careful to not destroy your own diversity board like I did and know that Great 3D seems to meen well with customer support if not a bit over eager to jump to help. A bit of a refund or store credit would have been a better choice in my own case and this could have been figured out with only a minimal bit more communication. I still think what they show is an eagerness to take care of their customers.

Buy this product, pimp out and protect your gear and be careful to not destroy your diversity side as I did.

  5. A great way to achieve a neat Laforge installation

Posted by FlyingMerf on Feb 2nd 2017

I'm very happy with my purchase. The parts were shipped promptly. The fit and finish of the components were excellent, but I needed to trim some edges slightly to make the units go in without having to use a lot of pressure. I used the external wire installation for the Laforge because it makes exchanging receiver modules for flying on 1.3 GHz or 2.4 GHz video feeds a little easier. The printed wire harness does a great job holding the external wire, and manages to look good too.

  6. Dominator v2

Posted by Jeff Repass on Jan 31st 2017

Nice snug fit. Slight trimming needed, to be expected with 3d printing. Was happy with the flexibility of the material. It would have been impossible to fit both recievers in their covers otherwise. Covers look good also

  7. Just ok

Posted by RF on Jan 30th 2017

Do they do the job? Yes they do. Fit and finish not so much.
for the price I would expect better. They fit with a lot of pushing and pulling.
That goes with fit on the module as well as on the goggles.
5 feet away and 5 miles and hour they look ok. For half the price they would have been great. the Value for the dollar spent just isn't there.
But there isn't a lot of different makers of these doors.
Would I buy them again? most likely. Who else would I get them from?

    Response from Great3D:
Please reach out to us at support@great3d.com. We would be happy to replace or refund your items if what you received does not meet your expectations or are flawed in any way. We have had overwhelming satisfaction from the majority of customers and would like to make sure you are happy with your purchase. Unfortunately our review system does not capture any information that would allow us to identify your order.
    Thanks,
    Great 3D.......

  8. Lafarge diversity module doors

Posted by Adam on Jan 20th 2017

  9. Does it's job

Posted by Bryan on Jan 19th 2017

External module works well. The cable protector is kinda tricky to get all the wires in but all in all it's a great setup.

The main door isn't quite as flush as I would like it, especially on the right side of the door (facing the module).

    I'd recommend it though.

  10. Great Idea!!

Posted by John on Jan 11th 2017

I received the internal version of this and the design is very good but I ran into the problem of the module side had too much print material and would not fit in the goggles by itself. After doing some trimming I was able to get it to fit correctly. I also found that when attempting to get the entire module and cover into place in the goggles the area where the wire enters the cover in my case makes it very difficult to slide the cover into the goggles without damaging the wire. I removed part of the side portion where the wire enters the cover and found that it was much easier to install after that.

I had to also do some trimming on the diversity side module to get the cover to fit but it went much faster. I did attempt to email Great3D to see if they had any additional information that may help on installing the covers without trimming them but never received any feedback. To be fair it has only been a day or so since the attempted contact.

After installing the fit turned out great and mine fit very tight so I don't believe they will ever fall out. I did see a small amount of light coming in on the diversity side but that could have been where I had to trim it to fit correctly.

All in all a very good product and I would buy it again if needed.
