 Product Description

HS1177 Camera Mount for Vortex 250 Pro (Made from TPU).

This mount is made from TPU and is covered by the Great 3D Limited Lifetime Warranty for parts against breakage by blunt force impact.

  1. First take note that the mount has 2 ways it can be mounted.  One side up it will put the HS1177 mounting screws 10.75mm above the bottom plate and the other side up it will put them 11.75mm above the bottom plate.  By mounting the cam with the screws 10.75mm above the bottom plate you will get more angle from the cam but the cam will be about even with the bottom plate while turning the mounts over you will raise the cam 1mm for better protection but will get less angle.
  2. You can choose to mount the cam to the mounts before placing them over the standoffs or place them over the standoffs and then mount the cam.  I personally find it easier to mount the cam first without tightening down the screws too much.  This mount is designed to be very tight over the standoffs so you do not get play in the camera after it is mounted.
  3. Once mounted hold the camera at the angle you want and snugly tighten down the mounting screws (be careful not to tighten so tight that you strip them out.

If you do happen to strip out your mounting holes on the case a new case can be purchased at Surveilzone for $1.99 at the following link.

This should also be compatible with the RunCam Swift Camera as the dimensions are the same.  It has not yet been tested with this camera.  If you buy this mount and use a RunCam Swift please let us know how it works for you.

  1. Screws

Posted by Launchpad on May 20th 2016

Standard screws for the HS1177 do not work. Totally useless product! What is the purpose of a mount you cant mount.........

NOTE from Robert Wheeler: Whoever left this review please reach out to me at robert@robertwheeler.com. This mount should work fine with the screws that come with the HS1177. I would like to discuss whether the screws that came with your camera are shorter or if there is some other issue.

  2. Great Solution, Limited Range

Posted by Blake on May 16th 2016

So I bought this mount for potential use with a Runcam Swift knowing full well it might not work out. It does work with the Runcam, but in a very limited way. You can only use the mount in the camera-high orientation; mounting it camera-low will put the bottom of the Swift below the frame. In the camera-high position it has a very short range of angles you can put the camera in. Here's an image of the Swift mounted at an angle where the bottom corner is perfectly flush with the bottom edge of the frame (I'm holding a ruler against the bottom to make sure it's flush): http://i.imgur.com/wAXrBf8.jpg.

As you can see in the image, the lowest possible angle you can achieve with the Swift is pretty steep. For some it might be perfect, I just figured I would mention it as it doesn't afford nearly as much of an adjustment range as the mount is designed to offer.

But for standard HS1177 cameras I'm sure this mount would work great. Printed in TPU so it's vibration and crash resistant, it also makes it super easy to put on and super secure. If you are planning on either removing the original plate or replacing the camera the HS1177 upgrade makes sense anyways, so buy this mount and get flying.
