Carolina XC X Class Frame 3D Parts (Free Download)

 Product Description

This is the STL files for the Carolina XC X Class Frame 3D Parts.  


  • This download is for the latest version of the Carolina XC Frame plates. 
  • This download contains all files in a single STL file.  You will need to be able to split the parts out in order to arrange and print them.  Simplify 3D allows for this and some other slicers may also.  I have combined the files in order to keep it simple to make updates.

Contained in this file are clamps for 20mm, 21.5mm and 25mm Round Tubes as well as 20mm X 20mm Square Tubes, 20mm X30mm Octagon Tubes, 1 Inch Hex Tubes and Dysonian Hex Tubes.  Feel free to edit the files for other arm types.  Landing feet is now included in this download.

These parts should all be printed with TPU Filament (We suggest Sainsmart Brand).  We also suggest you print these with 100% Infill, .25mm or .3mm Layer Height and .52mm Extrusion Width.  Be aware that these settings are based on our printers and you may find your printer does a better job with different settings.

Feel free to print your own or edit these files to use different arms with the Carolina XC Frame.

    Over all, this is the best DYI kit I could ever ask for. I saved lots of money by 3D printing my own clamps. I did everything they suggest for the prints and it worked out perfectly. I like how the STL files included many options to choose from and the one I needed worked flawlessly (21.5mm). Before I got the motor mounts, I could not understand the hardware options when I was placing the order. Why are the screws so short, only 12mm long (I was using 40mm M3 screws with my original clamps)? Why do you need 35mm standoff? I finially understood those options after 3D printing the tube clamps (the 3d files are free to download). Instead of using one long screw that goes form the top of the plate to the bottom, it uses a standoff between the 2 clamps and shorter screw on both ends. Then I was kind of worried that the TPU would be too soft and not clamp tight enough. No need to be worried because the clamps grips tube very well and it might help reduce the vibrations from the motors too. One last thing about the carbon fiber plate is the chamfered edges, but only on one side. It saves me to trouble in filing the edges myself.     needs to be individual files instead of one with everything for 2 different styles of drones...do 1 zip for each style and don't lock them so people can move the pieces to fit their printer
    Response from Great 3D: I believe most slicers should be able to split the parts into separate parts. I know both Simplify 3D and Cura allow it. Maintaining separate files can cause confusion when doing updates and exporting.
